[소셜밸류=박완규 기자] ASET, a company specializing in next-generation solid-state electrolyte membranes for secondary batteries, is officially expanding into Vietnam.
On the 11th, ASET announced that it had signed an MOU with 4M Electro Optics Vina to introduce its solid-state electrolyte membranes to the local market and to strengthen their partnership in the electrification industry. Major executives and employees from both companies attended the MOU signing ceremony.
The MOU has drawn attention as a strategic partnership aligned with the Vietnamese government’s policy to promote the expansion of eco-friendly transportation. The government aims to limit the sales of new motorcycles with internal combustion engines and mandate supply of electric motorcycle by 2026. Consequently, the policy has driven an increase in demand for high-safety and high-quality solid-state electrolyte membranes in across industries utilizes batteries and electrification technology.
The MOU between the two companies was established as a proactive partnership in response to these changes. ASET and 4M Electro-Optics Vina will build a partnership based on the Vietnamese government’s ‘2026 Electrification Roadmap’ and take lead in creating a sustainable, eco-friendly mobility ecosystem in the ASEAN region.
Both companies agreed to collaborate on key initiatives such as ▲ supplying electrolyte membrane and verifying prototypes, ▲ establishing a local production hub, ▲ obtaining government approvals and investment, and ▲ supporting OEM electrification and commercialization. They will also promote practical business activities in stages, such as securing local clients and developing a sales and distribution network.
Park Seokjeong, the CEO of ASET, said, “As a strategic partnership aligned with the Vietnamese government’s policy mandating electric mobility solutions, the MOU will serve as a turning point, helping ASET’s solid-state electrolyte membrane become a key technology in the local electrification industry. In collaboration with 4M Electro-Optics Vina, we will establish a strong presence in the ASEAN electrification market by building a structured partnership system covering production, sales and training”.
The official of 4M Electro-Optics Vina said, “ASET’s high-performance electrolyte membrane technology perfectly meets the needs of the Vietnamese electrification industry. We will work together to drive clients acquisition and market expansion by leveraging local infrastructure and networks”.
Meanwhile, ASET aims to enter the motorcycle, electric vehicle, and energy storage system (ESS) markets in Vietnam with its proprietary high-thermal resistance, non-flammable composite solid-state electrolyte membrane technology. While it plans to begin mass production and exports in the second half of 2026, the partnership will accelerate the strengthening of the global supply chain and establishment of local channels, with the focus on the Southeast Asian market.
